Frigidaire Refrigerator Repair – How to Replace the Freezer Gasket (Frigidaire # 241786008)

We’d like to explain you how to change the freezer door gasket on the refrigerator. Before we attempt this repair, we’ll carefully inspect the new door gasket to make sure there are no deformities, cuts, or tears in the gasket material. If everything looks good on that, then we’ll go ahead and do the repair.

To remove the old one, we simply need to open up the freezer door, and then we’ll just press the old gasket anywhere along the long sides and pull it away from the door. Once you have a small portion of it started, just put your hand in behind it and while supporting the door, we’re just going to pull it right out of that liner. We’ll then discard the old door gasket.

Before we install a new one, we’ll inspect that little channel. It runs all the way around that inner door panel and particularly across the bottom, make sure that we have no foreign debris, any sticky substances in that area that might impede the process of putting in our new one. If everything is clean, we’re simply going to take our new gasket, line it up on the door, and begin by pressing in the two top corners, and then press all the way along the top edge.

Go to the bottom, and line up the two bottom corners. Again, simply just press that into that channel on the door liner, then we’ll just work our way up the long sides, and then carefully inspect all the way around to make sure that we have it firmly pressed into place. The outside edge of that gasket should lay flush on that outer door panel all the way around. Once we have it firmly in place, we could close the door up, pull open the refrigerator door, and just verify that we have a good seal all down through that center mullion. Look across the top and make sure it’s tight there as well. We’ll close the refrigerator up, and our repair is complete.
