Smeg Repair — Common Questions
Yes — Smeg ranges, cooktops, ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers, including the retro-styled FAB fridges. Gas models are handled by TSSA-certified technicians. Call or text 647-834-4646.
Functional parts — thermostats, pumps, seals, elements, hinges — are generally obtainable through Canadian distribution. Cosmetic panels and colour-matched trim are the slow items, and on a brand bought largely for its looks that matters. We tell you which category your part falls into when we quote.
Usually yes, and more often than with an ordinary fridge — because a FAB is bought for its design and replacing it costs accordingly. Thermostats, door seals, fans and control boards are all worth doing. A failed sealed system is the point where we would tell you to think hard, and we will say so plainly rather than quietly quote it.
Drainage and fill faults lead the list — blocked filters, a tired drain pump, or an inlet valve that has stopped opening fully. Clean the filter and check the drain hose first; a surprising number of “broken” dishwashers are a blocked filter. If it persists, the pump or valve is the likely cause.
Yes. Mention it when you book — integrated units sit behind cabinet doors and need drawing out carefully, which we would rather allow time for than discover on the day.
The visit is $89, covering diagnosis of the real fault. Approve the repair and the $89 is waived. Everything else is quoted in writing before work starts.
